English note! euh... scottish note! :-)

Yes, scottish note in germany!

I saw last year a tartan fabric with typical colors for tartan but "light" colors. I mean the combination of the colors is not too hard.
This give me the idee to sew a dress from this fabric.

Burda Style from September 2012 :

the dress pattern N° 107
An easy A-Line dress

with extra instructions:

I lined the dress because the fabric is light
but You don't have to do it.
I haven't any lined fabric enough that's why I only lined the front and back pieces.
The sleeves are not lined.
I sewed also the fabric sleeves and lined sleeves together.

the sleeves are particulary!
There is only a dart in the middle! I see this method for the first time and it's really , really easy to put the sleeve to the other parts of dress!!!
And the result is cute.

I spend lot of time to fold the right and left  fabric parts together!
It's really dificult with checked pattern ...

I least, I didnt have the same pattern rigt and left from the zip ... :-(

But I used a big red zip to give a sportly touch!

I cut the dress in size 10.
The pattern from Burda is very easy.
I can recommend it. The instructions were easy to follow.

I think, I make an another dress with the pattern, but with an easier fabric :-) and perhaps with schorter sleeves for spring!

Round and round...

I just wanted a light and airy bluse

And I saw the McCall Pattern 6510:

exactly what I wanted to sew!

I searched a long time for a funny and styled fabric but I didn't find  it.

I found this light cotton fabric: Funny too!

I cute the top in size S and made the form B.

I was disappointed because it looks a little bit bizarre with the round design fabric and with the pleat at the middle... but I didn't have enough fabric to cute it again in the form A :-(

I made some alterations:

 - I used english stitches because the fabric is very light and a little bit transparent

 - I used  self made bias
for the neckline and the seam :
I'm finally happy with my top. Perhaps it was a good idea withe for form B (with the pleat) because when I put the top on me I have not so many place for the breast :-)
That's why, finally it's ok! :-))

The first jersey top I finished!

I hate jersey ... I thought  ... :-)
Till I found this fabric!

with a lot of viscose!

It was the first time I had so much fun with jersey working.
I didn't know about different jersey fabrics and about her quality!
It was not too difficult for me to cut and sew this art of jersey, and I was very happy!

I usually buy one-color-fabric but I liked this design.

So I was looking for a pattern to use this fabric and I found thisone for a top.

It's the first time too, I'm using a New Look pattern!

I found the instructions very good!

I cut the top in 10, my usually size and it fits good.

I made the top a little bit shorter (one inch), because I'm petite, but sonst I didn't make any alteration.

I love the front details. A lovely design and not too much fabric on the bust.

I think, I coul'd make the dress for sommer!
