A self changed top from London

I had nice vacation in London with my sister on March and I bought among aothers :-) a men t-shirt for tourists.

My ambition was to make from the boring t-shirt a lovely top, because I like this london car so much!!!
So, I cut the sleeves and the horrible neck ...
and I look for ideas ...

And I found it! :

From Patrones 310.
I only used the pattern pieces 1 and 2 and only for the neck and sleeves.

So, I cut the shirt!

And I added a red zip in the midle from the back piece.

Top Vogue 6253 from the Sixties

I love vintage pattern from the Sixties!

That's why I bought this pattern.
It's a top and a skirt from Vogue 6253 in one size
( size 12 but from the 60s)

I wanted to test the top pattern with a rest of fabric:
a cotton fabric with flowers motives

Rosalie's wearing the top with belt.

But I'm wearing it with belt and jeans :-)

The instructions were easy to follow.
I made deeper darts on the back, because of my hollow back.

I only wanted to sew an art of muslin with this fabric ...
but I like it. The flower motives look like japanese sleeves :-)

Round and round...

I just wanted a light and airy bluse

And I saw the McCall Pattern 6510:

exactly what I wanted to sew!

I searched a long time for a funny and styled fabric but I didn't find  it.

I found this light cotton fabric: Funny too!

I cute the top in size S and made the form B.

I was disappointed because it looks a little bit bizarre with the round design fabric and with the pleat at the middle... but I didn't have enough fabric to cute it again in the form A :-(

I made some alterations:

 - I used english stitches because the fabric is very light and a little bit transparent

 - I used  self made bias
for the neckline and the seam :
I'm finally happy with my top. Perhaps it was a good idea withe for form B (with the pleat) because when I put the top on me I have not so many place for the breast :-)
That's why, finally it's ok! :-))

The first jersey top I finished!

I hate jersey ... I thought  ... :-)
Till I found this fabric!

with a lot of viscose!

It was the first time I had so much fun with jersey working.
I didn't know about different jersey fabrics and about her quality!
It was not too difficult for me to cut and sew this art of jersey, and I was very happy!

I usually buy one-color-fabric but I liked this design.

So I was looking for a pattern to use this fabric and I found thisone for a top.

It's the first time too, I'm using a New Look pattern!

I found the instructions very good!

I cut the top in 10, my usually size and it fits good.

I made the top a little bit shorter (one inch), because I'm petite, but sonst I didn't make any alteration.

I love the front details. A lovely design and not too much fabric on the bust.

I think, I coul'd make the dress for sommer!

Spring blouse

Spring is coming...

and here is a new blouse for the next kindly nights.

I used a pattern from Patrones 292,

the blouse N°30

I don't have a serger, but I sewed these blouse while I took a sewing course in Cologne in Germany in a fabric-shop called: "Feine Stoffe"
http://www.feinestoffekoeln.de/

I learned lot of  tips for quickly sewing for example, but also how to sew such chiffon fabric!
I brought patience ... but only for the fabric because it was very interesting and very funny!!!

I can recommend these course if you are in Germany , closed to Cologne!:-)

I had already the fabric for the blouse and I looked for the fabric for sleeveband and for the neckband, and for the waistband..
I found in the shop "Feine Stoffe" a light transparent fabric and a satin fabric, wich I used for the waistband together:

I cut the pattern in the european size 38 and I made no alteration.

I used and cut diagonal the transparent fabric for the neckband.

At the waistband I used the same fabric ( togehter with the satin fabric in the same colour) horizontal
But for the sleevebands  I used the fabric vertical!

I was not only a sewing course, it was a styling and creativ course too!!!

Here is a view from the sleeve:

and here is a view from the side.

It was difficult for me to sew correctly this difficult fabric but I had help from Dirk, the sewing teatcher, and from his serger!!!
But I am so lucky about the resultat!!!

A top for summer days ... or nights

After a while... I 'm sewing again!

I moved and I must find a place in the new flat to sew new projects.

But now, I habe a new and nice sew corner :-)

I wanted to sew an easy top ... sleeveless for example! :-)

From Patrones 301 I found this lovely top.

We can't exactly see it but we can imagine it with the pattern figure.

I still can't read spanisch :-) so I must put the pieces together with my own experiences.
Hum...

I cut a front and back facing with the same fabric, so that the top fits very good.
Ok, I recognise.. I hate bias so I mostly use these facing pieces.

But in this case.. it wasn't so clever...
because I choose a light cotton fabric in WHITE!
So that you can see where the facing is stoping.
On the back piece it doesn't matter but front... it's not so cute :-(

I used for the first time these art of button but - I hate bias :-) - I used fine white belts to the over size.

I didnt know where I had to put exactly the loop on the neckline...
Perhaps I should have sewn it just till the center of the front...
because I can't definitly make the loop like the pattern photo :-)

But I think it's ok so :-)

But I love this long loop and the stand up collar.

But the most I love is how the top is making great shoulder :-)
